We need. We

Our grasp usually
exceeds our reach
We need more
Always more

We need we need
One more touch
Down
Car, bank deposit , TV, iPhone, iPod
Really tho

More
me time
We need more hours in the day
We need someone to remind us
To check more hair growing out of our ears
To pull slivers from the bottom of our feet
To tell us that our garden is too large
For our faltering energy

We need our parents’ voices
Even if we are ourselves aging
We need someone to tell us
To eat better
Slow down
Take naps
Sleep 8 hours

We can live alone
Stare at screens
Chat on line
Work in solitude
Pray in silence

We can
but
Still
We Need We

  1. We do indeed. This poem took care of one of my needs–one more poem. Read, “liked” reread, treasured. Great to see your work again.

tell me what you think. There's a spot for your name and email, but it isn't necessary when posting a comment
