flying through an aurora borealis

Color above me
And darkness below
Imagine deep, dark the tundra
Hidden in snow.
But hues above me
The layered expanse
Alive with the the motion
Which lured me to dance
Like Eskimo mothers
Since life before me
Passed on to their daughters
For all who could see.
This color above me
Fades with the light
And brings my attention
To the snow and the white.
