sticks in her yard

a farmette plowing her field
she fills her time and her wheel
barrow
worrying over tiny elm twigs
littering her yard.

Daily, this ritual
lawn
grooming
over what appears to be primarily
lost to a
binding weed.

no one has asked this of her.
her mission.
she circles.
scavenger shark for
remnants
of restless squirrels.

traveled
has she
10,000 miles.
arriving no where.

worrying over that which
is incomprehensibly foolish.
Still.
Sticks in her yard.

  1. my laziness makes it impossible to relate; but as always I savor your use and choice of words–and tight sentences. A complete paragraph sometimes in 1-3 words and better said than 100’s.
